International law is in effect to help establish peace and justice worldwide. Existing laws hold entities accountable for their actions. Federal law rules over the entities within a particular nation. However, international law rules over the nations as a whole, on a global level. Two sectors of international law exist, The private sector governs interactions between people from more than one nation. The public sector handles the rights between nations themselves, as opposed to the people occupying them. International law employs judicial decisions and customary laws. Judicial decisions are determinations made by a court of law regarding the matter at hand in a particular case. Customary laws are decided upon while considering local and national customs. Implementation of international law is based on UN treaties, along with input from the International Law Commission, the International Court of Justice, the General Assembly and the Security Council.
